Nice,
What cutter did you use for FINAL cut.. I use 3mm ballnose with 10% stepover. Another trick is to do final cut in X-direction and then another in Y-direction. On Youtube I would call it GRAPE not Strawberries .. |
Hi Stefan
Thanks for the video, you risked you life to do it for us by the sound of it All that safety stuff a a complete waste of time and money.... until you need it:) The new VFD and spindle looks great on #73. Regards Ross |
And the last test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9UqwF3Dbww
Took it 10 hours to finish those big grapes... Thanks and congratulations for this outstanding project, Gerard! The MM handled this work without any problems and it's still standing! |
You are brave to do such a big piece. Looking good, but I am sure that you should be able to speed it up a lot more. Once you have done your Rough cut and removed most of the wood with a 6 or 12mm straight cutter, your Final cut with a smaller Ballnose bit should only take about 1mm off, and therefore you can speed it up.

Hello everybody!
I was a little busy in the past months, but I still managed to do some great stuff with my MM. http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/8379/dscf5722j.jpg http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/5884/dscf5711ep.jpg http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/8196/dscf5701v.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Q-fs...layer_embedded |
Sweet !! What are the run times for those?
|
I like I like Stefan. Is that the mirror from Fabrice ?
|
@Mike 10-12 hours, it depends how fast the feed-rate or stepover is.
@Kobus No, I received that model from a friend. |
Very Nice Stefan
|

And my last work, I tried to mill Aluminium with some of my used wood mills: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpXsciBiQhY
If I had some aluminium mills, I think it would have gone much better. I'll prepare some stuff for a new cnc. |

Stefan, I am planning to build a MM in Hungary. May I ask you where did you order the laser cut and bent parts?
Many thanks, Andras |
Hallo. I've cut the piece with laser at home in Baia Mare. Do you not have a laser cutting machine there?
