What do you think about these motors?

Do you think there would be anything wrong with these... The specifications say 2.0amps that cant be right for 600 or so oz/inch motor can it?

at 12mH of inductance, wouldn't they require a 110v dc power supply?

shelbygt500buddy Tue 09 June 2009 07:53

I have no clue lol... Im not that good with electrical stuff...

Kyle,
It looks like Jeff is correct, you would need a 110V dc power supply to get maximum power out of those motors. I would look for something with less inductance. Also look at the torque/speed curves for the motors you are selecting. Compare them to the suggested Oriental motors and see if they are similar. The Oriental motors that are suggested have a good T/S curve for CNC applications. They work well on many machines. :)

Kyle,

I would NOT buy anything made by or distributed by Tormach. There are many other good suppliers out there whose history is spotless. You might want to Google Tomach and Gecko to learn what I'm talking about. Mariss at Geckodrive has innovated many excellent concepts that others may have "borrowed" or that others have purchased from companies who may have "borrowed".

Hey well thank you... i gotta learn to just buy what i know is good and not try to save the extra money lol...

If you buy quality, you cry once, if you buy cheap, you will cry many times over. :)
