Kobus_Joubert Mon 26 January 2009 06:10

Hennie what's happening..why no action or is it all action in the background and you will surprise us and still get #20

hennie Mon 26 January 2009 09:25

(Soos die skim in die nag). All good things come to those who wait!:)
Got three Big contracts that I am busy with and while the golden spoon is there I am creaming it.

hennie Mon 26 January 2009 09:58

Gerald how do you cope with rust? racks show rust ,wheels show rust, rails angle surface show some rust.( know the rails will be sorted once its working)
Would soaking them in oil work or Q20 ?
Have been at the coast for 3 years and bakkie just got fixed from rust.

Gerald D Mon 26 January 2009 10:12

We just rub on a little oil or grease. If the stuff is not going to be used soon, a light spray of Tectyl does the trick. (we get aerosol cans of Tectyl). Wrapping the parts in newspaper also helps.

Gerald D Mon 26 January 2009 10:15

Can you live with the new thread title? ;)
(Blame Kobus, he made me think of it):p

hennie Mon 26 January 2009 11:17

Why not wiring a boxing ring? And it will be used verry soooon.I am working on promoting the brand name ( watch the space)
Every dog gets its day:D

hennie Mon 26 January 2009 11:29

Will be off the forum for a while adsl needs to be moved to my new office.
You can see the MM working then.

Gerald D Mon 26 January 2009 11:32

We'll be patient . . . . .

hennie Mon 26 January 2009 12:02

You will be proud.:)

Kobus_Joubert Mon 26 January 2009 22:53

Gerald I LIKE it....gathering dust and rust...ha ha

Lex Tue 27 January 2009 01:37

Hey, don't talk about rust! Please:D:eek::o

Kobus_Joubert Tue 27 January 2009 02:06

Sorry Johan, I know even plastic will rust on the North Coast

hennie Tue 27 January 2009 08:45

Gerald,We earth the machine and that earth is connected into the control box and from there it goes into the earth of the electrical point.
Question? control box will be fitted to the building which is I beams and this is probably earthed together with the electricals, would it be a problem.( sorry K.K question?)
( I don`t have a bird cage / motorbike workshop that I can fit it against a wall ):D

Gerald D Tue 27 January 2009 09:46

No, the steel in the building structure is badly grounded/earthed, that normally does not cause earth loop problems. Nogal smart to figure out that it might be a problem. :D

Kobus_Joubert Sun 15 February 2009 10:49

I had a talk with Hennie this afternoon. He finished his MM today. Did a small cut to see how it is working. As he moved his business from Plet.to Knysna he does not have internet access yet and therefore asked met to request #20 to be reserved for him. He will post proof on Tuesday. Your call Gerald

Gerald D Sun 15 February 2009 11:24

This could be tricky. All I can do is to ask that nobody else tries to grab #20 before Hennie gets his pics posted.

sailfl Sun 15 February 2009 11:26

They to go Hennie, #20.

Gerald D Sun 15 February 2009 11:30

Sorry Hennie & Kobus, Koning Kaartman posted his logo pics before my reply above - he takes #20

sailfl Sun 15 February 2009 15:29

Hennie,

#21 is a great number. Congratulations.

kaartman Sun 15 February 2009 22:13

Congratulations Hennie, happy cutting

Kobus_Joubert Sun 15 February 2009 23:09

At least Hennie will get the key to the front door now that he could become 21.....you know what I mean

Lex Sun 15 February 2009 23:11

Yes Hennie Yes!

Alan_c Mon 16 February 2009 03:34

Hennie is still having Internet issues. He MMS 'ed me this picture via his cell phone last night and said that I can post it. He is still getting to grips with his CAM , Mach3 and Mech Mate.

Getting there one pulse / step at a time is OK with me..as long as there is movement.

OK I have been silent for the last three weeks.this shows you what can be done if I don`t sit in front of the computer on the forum.I still need to do the final painting and put the decals on but hey it cuts and that was an achievement on itself.
Thanks Gerald for the help and Kobus thanks for the help. I had difficulties setting the settings on the motors but as usual help is available.
some of my first cuttings to follow. My daughters names and some slots that I need to cut for my first job ( only a sample).those slots need to be cut in balau which will eventually become louvre doors. My little router that I used is not properly fixed but it did a good job for what its worth (writing names)busy making my Ryobi bracket.
Next number needs to be dusted of(we need a number in this side of the country)

hennie Sat 21 February 2009 10:57

need to visit a internet cafe so that`s me for now

Alan_c Sat 21 February 2009 13:35

Mooi so, welcome to the club...:)

Kobus_Joubert Sat 21 February 2009 23:12

Well done. Do you need stickers. Free of charge. I see another lazy builder like me ie. Not cutting the main beams at an angle. Enjoy the ride

Gerald D Sat 21 February 2009 23:44

The main_beams_at_an_angle thing started as a way to get long beams from short iron. . . . . then liked the looks of it, and it stuck. :)

kaartman Sun 22 February 2009 01:50

Nice hennie, go boy, go.
Will be good to trim the top and bottom sharp corners of the long beams to prevent injury to your leg or hip, those bruising and cuts happen on the Saturday afternoons when you only want to cut something quickly

sailfl Sun 22 February 2009 02:21

You get enough bumps, bruses and cuts with out sharp corners so do what you can to eleminate them.

Gerald D Sun 22 February 2009 08:34

The closing plate (1010324) also removes the vicious protrusions.

hennie Wed 25 February 2009 06:18

Got my decals on and it is painted will post pics tonight

Put Some More Paint On Yesterday And My Decals This Morning
Next Thing On The Agenda Is A Proper Bracket For My Router Then I Can Do Some Serious Cutting

hennie Wed 25 February 2009 11:56

I Still Battle To Get A Proper X-0/y-0 On My Table To Start Working From.
As Can Be Seen On The Table There Is A Square That Holds My Project In Place.
Did The First Cuts With No Hassle But As I Placed The Second Parts To Be Cut It Did Not Start Cutting In The Same Place.i Did The Cuts The Next Day So X0,y0 Should Be The Same.

hennie Wed 25 February 2009 12:01

CONGRATS TO ALL THE OTHER BUILDERS WHO GOT THEIR NUMBERS BEFORE ME.
Yes Alan it feels good to be part of the club.Must say I had some good compliments from folks who thought I am just talking.

hennie Wed 25 February 2009 12:10

Feedback On Cutting The Slots On Post No 227 As Per My Sample .it Takes 2 Min To Cut One In Solid Balou 15 Mm Deep. Not To Shabby!!

Gerald D Wed 25 February 2009 12:51
