Now I start to realise how big your motors really are. Many people say their experience with those motors is not good at fast speeds. Please keep us informed if they are working for you.

I am also a bit worried that the part 10 40 434, with its welding, is strong enough to carry that motor. You should check from time to time that the top weld is not starting to crack.

sailfl Sun 25 January 2009 01:28

Yuri,

Congratulations! That is a nice looking machine.

Alan_c Sun 25 January 2009 03:22

Yuri

Congratulations on the machine and best wishes to your Father - He seems to be doing well after the surgery. (My fathers birthday today 25 Jan - 76 years).

I recognise the Soviet and Russian federation flags (as well as Brazilian and RSA) but what is the flag in the centre? I assume you are originally from Russia?

Greg J Sun 25 January 2009 06:29

Yuri,

Very nice. Congratulations.

No comments of the picture on the wall ?? :)

jhiggins7 Sun 25 January 2009 06:49

Yuri,

Outstanding accomplishment...and on YOUR FATHER'S BIRTHDAY! I'm sure he is as proud of your achievement as we on the Forum are. Congratulations!:)

Your machine has been added to the MechMate Builder's Log, here

Happy cutting!:)

Regards,
John

Gerald D Sun 25 January 2009 07:16

People who are wondering whether they will be able to build a MechMate should be inspired by Yuri's achievement. His friends tell him that he has two left hands. He did not have most of the tools before the build - nor did he have experience with many of those tools. (Read this thread from the start again). But a good attitude and sense of humour got him to where he is today. You got to watch out for these Brasileiros!:D

myozman Sun 25 January 2009 10:43

Yuri,

Congratulations from #16. Your machine looks great.

Just like I was told, it needs some dust on it. Happy cutting.

Mike

Yuri,
Congratulations! You did a fine job. :)

Kobus_Joubert Sun 25 January 2009 22:30

Well done Yuri, Just to show that if you can ride a motorbike with two left hands, you can build a MM as well....enjoy and show us the things you are cutting.

OK, but the drivers are "Smile" that enable superior performance.

Who knows about EMC2 latency. Use a PC with latency of up to 15,000. My PC is 1150000. I'll replace it by an AMD PC.

Wait a moment.

Is there something in my eyes.:o :D

I just got here because you allowed it.

This great community (Forum MechMate and GuiaCNC) allows the dissemination of knowledge.

This is the revolution of the 21st century. :)

YRD Mon 26 January 2009 19:03

Nils, thanks. :D
You got the face blue. I with the finger blue.

Alan_C
Thanks for support :D. My father has not made the surgery. His heart capacity rose 30% to 60%. In the coming weeks will to intervene.

Greg_J,
You are the inspiration for the image of Big Boss the wall. ;)

John,
I'm also very proud but not satisfied. Thank you.:)

Mike,
Thank you. But you are very fast and did a great job. I have not yet finished.;)

Heath,
Thank you. This community inspires.

Kobus,
You make an exquisite work. I'm learning. But in driving the motorcycle ... maybe one day we are not on the road ...

YRD Mon 26 January 2009 20:51

Z Axis

Continuing the configuration. ;)

I am thinking of using a "spindle" as Vladimir.

The original idea was to use a Tecmaf. Now I think about this option. In Brasil, the use of this "spindle" is widespread. :p

Siemens 1cv this motor weighs 7,6 kilograms

Added 9,2 kilograms pair test the axis Z.

In the future I will use a reduction, perhaps 2,2:1.

Today I am not using the "gas springs"

Speed 300mm/second (18.0000mm/min or 708ipm). The beginning of the video is wrong.

Video: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=E3gS2O...e=channel_page

Then I cut it.

I am not proud of this :o

Gerald D Mon 26 January 2009 23:15

Why use the Siemens motor and not the WEG motors made in Brasil? Out here the WEG motors are very popular.

YRD Tue 27 January 2009 10:06

I think most have Siemens due to weight.

This 1LA7 075-2EA-9.
Weight: 7,6 kg :)
RPM: 3.410
Structure of aluminum.

This video was to understand whether the V-Roller will endure this extra weight.

What is your suggestion?

HI Yuri,

What Accel profile did you configure for the test which you did at 300mm/s??

thanks
francis

YRD Wed 28 January 2009 04:06

OK Francis, forgot this information:

Acceleration: 1.500mm/s2

YRD Sun 08 February 2009 18:20

I came back.

My father did. :):D:):D:):D

This week should be at home ... and he wants beer!

OK, while this one video ...

I find it a little noisy ... Gerald, perhaps a pinion with more teeth to allow more silent?

Gerald D Sun 08 February 2009 19:56

Good news about your father!

More teeth on the pinion will make little difference to the noise, but will make a big difference to the quality of the cut edge - the quality will go down a lot.

I cannot hear the noise on your video (don't have sound on my PC's) so I cannot judge if it is worse than what I am used to.

Jayson Sun 08 February 2009 21:27

Congratulations Yuri,

Great video and good speed too.

27 meters / minute makes the gantry get to the other end really fast.

I am having trouble convincing myself to try to go any faster than that.

How much more speed to you think you could get?

Regards,

Jayson

sprayhead Mon 09 February 2009 04:20

Congrats YURI! I enjoyed the video, She's fast!! For some reason I like the red Y CAR too:D

Can you post some pictures of your Smile driver and the Smile Break out board stack? I'd like to see how you got it all set up.

Also, how much torque do you think that the Smile is getting out of those 70Kg/cm motores?

atb
Francis

Gerald D Mon 09 February 2009 04:41

Okay, for you guys going at those crazy speeds, I need to know if the mechanical design can handle it! My biggest concern is the mechanical stops. Will they stop the gantry going at full speed? And the only way to be sure is to test it at least 10 times and then see if something is getting damaged.

Such a fast gantry, having a cutter spinning, comes running at you and then comes right off the rails into your lap! This is an easily predictable accident and therefore we must take real steps to prevent it. If we don't prevent a predictable accident then we are negligent

YRD Mon 09 February 2009 05:22

I agree,

But that was to show that a "driver Smile" can do more than a normal driver.

I will reduce per belt. I believe we need a very strong Spindle to cut this rate.

The next data of the motors:
Strength: 2.67 OHMS/fase
Inductance: 13.8 mH/fase
Inertia: 2.5 K.cm²
Weight: 5 kg

YRD Mon 09 February 2009 05:34

Jayson,
With motors smaller inductance ... I think it is good.

Francis,
So it is a Testarossa.
The driver is in an office that also accommodate the PC.

This image is old.

jhiggins7 Tue 17 February 2009 17:20

Yuri,

I received your PM and I've corrected the table size information on the Builder's Log. All future versions will reflect the updated information.

I tried to reply to your PM, but you have not enabled receipt of PM's, so I could not send you a reply. If, in the future, you want to receive PM's, you will have to edit your profile...I think:confused:

Regards,
John

YRD Tue 17 February 2009 19:41

OK John,

You are correct.

The size of the MM is 4400x2350.

Cutting Area: 3850x1830.

"PM" you were not possible.

I used the option "Request a read receipt for this message" ;)

YRD Sat 21 February 2009 09:20

I am working to eliminate the noise of my rack.

Module 1.5 - Pinion 22 teeth.

I have 2 racks of 2.000mm two on either side of the X.

Only 1 of 4, makes a greater noise.

Disconnected the "driver" and manually move the frame.

In search of the source of noise, release the rack that is the source of noise.

Reverses its position. Replaces another that I have to reserve. Far left of the metal and also against this.

Nothing eliminated the noise. Any suggestions?

Gerald D Sat 21 February 2009 11:01

Does the spring pull the motor tight against the rack? Or is there some obstruction that holds the pinion a little bit away from the rack?

YRD Sat 21 February 2009 14:16

There is no obstruction.

I have tried everything I could imagine, before asking.

Replaces original rack for another (that left the Z axis) and noise is the same.

I am lost.

Appears no affect the operation, but I think that a noise can be eliminated ...

sailfl Wed 25 February 2009 03:08

Yuri,

I believe that I have a noise in my rack also. Can you post a video clip on youtube with the noise. I have not looked at the problem for some time but I think in my case the rack is not square to the pinons.

Which rack are you noticing the problem on? Mine is on X.

myozman Wed 25 February 2009 04:47

Yuri,

You might check as Nils said about the pinion being square to the rack. Also, if there is play in the motor mount that could cause misalignment. I think I had this problem and just needed to tighten up a motor mount.

Mike

YRD Wed 25 March 2009 19:45

Nills and Mike,

Yes my problem is X, but in only one of four rack.

Mike, I believe there is misalignment or screw loose.

Moving with the hand (without engine coupled) noise appears in only one rack. I changed to another rack and continued noise.

See this old video (I'm no camera to make another video) :o

myozman Wed 25 March 2009 21:38

Yuri,

I watched the video, hard to tell. Your machine seems to fast. You might slow things down and see if it helps any. You might also check the kernel speed, In Mach, we set it at 25000Hz. I had this set wrong and was having problems, Changed the setting, and it cleared everything up. Keep us posted.

YRD Wed 25 March 2009 22:14

Thanks Mike,

The speed at which it makes less noise is between 9.000mm/min and 16.000mm/min.

Below 6.000mm/min there is a huge noise.

I hope that the reduction belt (to be 2,66:1) noise decreases. Maybe

Gerald D Thu 26 March 2009 04:00

Well, we have since found some faulty (badly made) racks in Belgium. . . . . . suggest you have a very close look at the teeth of the noisy rack and see how they compare to a good rack. Use a magnifying glass or a close-up photo.
