hi everyone
here are the new objects thanks |
Excelent designs! you should submit them to YankoDesign.com !
Are you using models designed by you or using free models available online? I tried to slice rhino or other surface models in Solidworks and never got the the procedure worked out completely. |
thanks pablo
all the models are off course designed by me from scratch, only the rhino and the head was made from 3d reference if you have a problem in a slice, send me the file, i will have a look |
Fabrice can I also send you a file?
|
yes, of course (use the email in my website)

one more:)

Ok I will take a 4,2 meter one to use it for a Satellite Dish.:D
|
nice!
One comment, I made many experiments with this method and there is a "problem" when you do designs like the last one, wood thickness needs to be very uniform because you get either sloppy joints or parts are very difficult to insert into each other after you inserted a few. Do you recall the ball I made? I started assembling from the center, the parts on the outside had to be hammered in place, I used just 0.2 mm over the material thickness for the slots. I tried a little more and the joints weren't as good. |
good to remember pablo
the cutting file is perfect but the cnc not (i'm exagerate off course) the man who use it have to master his cnc finally you are most serious than a south african boy i know (we know him all):), and he's mastering his mechmate for sure |
now in reunion island

Second time this year? Any danger to people or economy?
http://bigthink.com/ideas/24521 http://photoblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news...95725-hot-lava |
no danger for people if it stay in the enclosure (and if people don't go too near the lava)
for economy, inconvenience if the lava cross the road |
Wow, I hope you stay safe.

3d round table

a round table in 3d
thickness 15mm diameter big circle (under glasses) 1,20m |
Cool table but I have a feeling dust bunnies will love to hide in the middle
|
The leg should be able to store wine bottles - keep the bunnies happy..
|
Nice design! but I have to disagree with G. here, the kitchen is not the best place to store wine, one liter bottles of beer are OK :)
|
No it's place for the kids to hide the cabbage that they don't want to eat.:p
|
Kobus, what are my children doing in your house? ;)

hi everyone
new design |
Hi there! You're models are awesome! How do you slice the objects? With a certain function or a plugin? I tried with Split ( from Features in the Insert menu), but haven't received exactly what i wanted - those sliceforms.
|
thanks
i post a tutorial here: http://www.mechmate.com/forums/attac...9&d=1267851455 |
Thanks a lot Fabrice!
|
Sorry for the double post. Could you also recommend a manual or something for a begginer in SW to start with?
|
to start with solidworks, nothing better than the tutorial included (very complete, it remind me that i must read it whole) and then you can ask me by pm or email

Very nice. Is it designed in solidworks or what program are you using. Wouldn't mind making one myself for my youngest son. Michael |
