I am plenty patient and would rather wait than have them rushed and not be accurate.

Thanks for making this happen Joe.

Joe,
Is that a complete Mamba laser cut parts list and bearings? If it is, how much?

I wouldn't mind stocking up for the next build. :)

jbmclain Fri 14 March 2008 14:54

parts

Greg as long as the price of steel and operating cost stay the same, the price will remain $383.00 plus shipping.(25 parts and 8 bearings)

I will take orders for the next batch of 6 or more.

Don't count me in on this order. This project is taking allot longer than I wanted and by the time I'm ready for number 2, the design will have changed.

Thanks for you help.

Parts came today THANKYOU JOE!! still haven't had the chance to open them up I have to finish cleaning off the workbenches that will hold the kitchen table project. then I will start and post pictures as well.

Again thanks!

ekdenton Thu 20 March 2008 16:27

Got my parts yesterday and put the car together to see how it fit. Very nice fit, no gaps anywhere. The spider had stress cracks on the outside of the bends but not bad, I will fill the cracks with my mig and sand flat with a flapdisk. The spider did have the hole locations etched also, that was nice. I think they did a great job cutting and bending:D

Marc Shlaes Thu 20 March 2008 16:50

Got mine too Joe. Very cool. Thanks so much for getting this organized!

kwang90020 Thu 20 March 2008 22:36

For those wondering how good of a job Joe's suppliers did...

I just unpacked my parts and snapped them together and fired up my MM. No welding required.

Just kidding of course but they are just about that good!

Well done Joe! Thanks again

Hello Joe,

This is my first post to a mechmate forum.

But, I have been doing some reading around this site for about the last week and am very interested in getting started with a build.

I too would like to order a set of the laser cut parts.

If you are located in the Birmingham, AL area, I am only 3 hours away from you in Houston, MS 38851.

You can e-mail me: [email protected] to let me know about payment.

I received my parts from Joe and they are excellent. Drawing numbers are engraved on each part. Bends are excellent. Much thanks to Joe for the quick turnaround - at an excellent price!

Thanks,

Joe or Gerald,
Why the extra motor plate?

Gerald D Fri 11 April 2008 10:39

I supposed it was for a second y-motor?

If that is the case, I must point out that I ignored a second y-motor when doing the cable chain position for the gantry. You might have to lengthen the chain a bit and/or re-position the brackets.

Also realise that the "Full Options" will only work with the geared OM motors.

domino11 Fri 11 April 2008 11:28

Gerald,
Is there any advantage to having 2 Y motors? I can see it on the X but dont know if the extra one on the Y would improve anything.

Gerald D Fri 11 April 2008 12:07

See thread http://www.mechmate.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2915

jbmclain Fri 11 April 2008 14:03

Extra Y-Plate

I figured for those people that wanted to put an extra motor on there machine, they wouldn't' have to call me to get an extra plate.
Didn't mean to confuse things.

kanankeban Sat 03 May 2008 22:37

Hi Joe,
How is the order doing? do you have a date for the shipping? Im exited to see the first parts of my mamba project :)
Kindest Regards,
Hector
