I like that sign !!! Cool about finding a MechMate !! Did you take a pic? Did you tell them who you are?

domino11 Tue 11 January 2011 12:06

Mike,
No, Movie stars and famous people like to keep a low profile while on vacation. :)

Gerald D Tue 11 January 2011 12:12

The father & son team that built the MM seemed a bit nervous at first that I was paying them a visit, but they did relax and took me around to their workshop to look at their blue beast. I didn't stay long and didn't take pictures. They wish they had more work for their MM though.

Robert M Wed 12 January 2011 04:21

MAYBE they will see this post & recognize them self……enough to motivate some to come out of their dungeon and open their own thread ?
Welcome aboard !! :)

MetalHead Wed 12 January 2011 06:27

Yes - I would love to have folks that are on the sidelines tell us about their builds !!

Gerald: Thanks for the link to the great fotos of Port Alfred. Now I have another "Place to Visit before I die" destination. It looks great.

That looks like the kind of thing my Father would do!!!! you mean there's more than one like him around...

hennie Sun 16 January 2011 22:04

Passion wagon!! It is probably called "loslappie"

Robert M Mon 17 January 2011 05:25

Alan, hate to shine the light on this, but inevitably…… like father like SON

Alan_c Mon 17 January 2011 12:54

Noooo no no Robert, If my father had built a Mechmate it would probably have windscreen wipers modded to try and work like steppers, and then he would wonder why it didnt work. He is most renowned for butchering a 1952 Daimler (Black with burr walnut dash and leather interior) by dropping in a V8 Chev motor, which destroyed the gearbox (something about too much torque) that led to a 3 speed crash box transplant, which then required a new diff etc etc etc... No, we are not the same when it comes to mechanical wizadry  I tend to stick with whats realistic.

Hi.

Im searching info about a good online shop for purchase the South African red and green tea Rooibos.

Im searching a original tea from Cederberg

Bests.

Gerald D Mon 02 May 2011 07:28

Popular brands are Freshpak and 11 o'clock sold in supermarkets all over South Africa.

I have tasted some rooibos teas in Germany, but they were horrible.

isladelobos Mon 02 May 2011 08:40

Thanks Gerald.

I fount the Freshpak on Amazon but can't sent to Spain, another interesant rooibos tea from South Africa is Redespresso.

Gerald D Mon 02 May 2011 10:08

Can you find Lipton rooibos?

hennie Mon 02 May 2011 11:18

Last week we took a well deserved little holiday to show our little one and his friend the Cape.
Left on Sunday morning 03h00 from Johannesburg and arrived around 16h30 in Worcester at my friends wine farm.
Monday to Friday in Cape Town.
Then drove up to Springbok to visit my daughter that stays there.
Left on Sunday via Augrabies waterfall to Vryburg and slept at my eldest sisters place.
Monday back home.
