9mm plate?

i have a 9mm piece of metal for free very nice very straight .. 1000mm x 230mm
now it weights 14 kilos so if a make a meter long z zlide will be around 7 kilos only on that piece. what do you think? too heavy? iam planning to buy 3hp spindle on the medium future.
iam gathering material untill i clean my ¨shop¨ and start building.

No, its not too heavy. Gas spring compensates z slide weight anyway. My mechmate z slide weight with spindle is around 25 kg.
