Websites that inspire (and get the budget approved!)

We know there comes a time when we have to convince the financial manager of the need for a MechMate. Please give links that inspire, and that we can show to her.

untothislast
Because we can

From this site:
Hani Al Mandeel (Bahrain)
Fabrica's small carving done on a MechMate

(I'll tidy the links up for you - you are welcome to post looong web addresses)

Here is a guy in Sweden who is having his first steps with a CNC router:
http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/mes...312/22745.html
He writes in a very readable english

Now why do I mention him in a "budget approval" thread? . . . . . Have a look at what he said today:
http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/sho...5626#POST55626

We found the very same situation in Cape Town....big companies with big CNC routers pushing out square panels all day, and then very happily outsourcing the smaller, more "complicated" jobs at very high prices.

"Great" again ... Sorry.

Designer Ronen kadushin web site :

http://www.ronen-kadushin.com/, see Open Design chapter.

"...In Open Design, the design is a two dimensional "cutout" represented as digital information. It relies on the Internet's communication resources, to publish, distribute, and copy the designs under a CreativeCommons deed. Coupled with The flexibility of CNC production methods, all technically conforming designs are continuously available for production, in any number, with no tooling investment, anywhere and by anyone..", Ronen kadushin.

Joe Crumley used a ShopBot to cut many of these "dimensional" signs into HD polyurethane foam at Norman Sign Company. Joe is a legend, active on many forums, and the most helpful and sharing person that walked this earth. But, he is getting old . . .
