Has anyone thought about chroming the rails? (hardness & corrosion)
Has anyone thought about chroming the rails? both for a hardness and corrosion prevention improvement?

I’d say it’s pretty much out of the basic MM concept= low cost, ease for DIY, and on…
Chroming as I can understand it, most likely will help but to each his own, not the best lower cost approach. BUT will surly look good My view ! ;0) Amicalement, Robert |

Matt,
It would be more cost effective I would think to buy the preground rails than rather have them chromed. Less work and cost. |

There is chroming and there is chroming - the quality is only evident whent it starts to flake off. With our sharp edges, exposed to dings, we could have more chance of flaking chrome.

or you could go the electroless nickel way, less expensive than chrome and more uniform coating IMHO.
