Mamba Parts

I think that shipping would kill your budget. I checked on sending a set to Australia, and Shipping was $700.00.
I really don't think the box will hold up that far.

700$ is indeed far too much.
I have here in Belgium a few contests, and the price fluctuates between the 600 and 750 euros for the mamba set .I will continue the search for a good price .
Do you have any idea whether the shipping to Belgium for the 4 Gecko's and the 4 steppers also to that extent?
The best price for a Gecko Vampire Drive 203 is 175 euro in Belgium .

Question And so another project Begins

Thanks Gerald for the help just put an order in for the laser cut parts was saying to kim that as i am a fitter/turner by trade i know the time saved by my purchase and can afford now to put that time into the finer details of the machine. A friend put me on to your site and already my wife reckons the laptop has never had such usage, never sees it out of my hands when home from work, brain is going into overload with all the info.I am sure i may be asking a few questions but forgive me in advance

Thanks again

postage to ireland was 120 euro which i find reasonably considering cost and time spent hand machining is realy a no brainer they would be more acurate and better fits (hopefully) only joking kim

Mamba Laser Cut Parts

O.K. Things are slowing down and It is looking like a good time to place another order!!

There are two guys that are committed and wanting a set of parts.
There are about ten or so people riding the MM fence.
They need at least four or more people to commit to buy parts before I place another order.

A set of Mamba parts and 8 bearings for the skate is $397.00 Plus whatever shipping is to your location. The price might change due to timing of order and increases in our economy.

If "You" are ready to order your "Mamba" set, Email me your address and zip code to: 1mclain@bellsouth.net

Thanks for all the help Joe!

I ordered some more sets for myself this week, and tweaked two plates slightly. Only one of the 2 affects the inch folk - added a lip to 1030422 for attaching a switchbox. Zipped drawings are in the downloads section.

Gerald, "Thank You" for keeping the MM Dream alive!!

And thanks for the update on the update.
Only two more people needed to place an order!!
Trust me, you don't want to be the one on a waiting list all summer long.

Joe, there is also a move afoot to increase the hole size in the grinder skate so that other brands of angle grinders can more easily be fitted.

Also extending the lower x-axis cable chain brackets would be very helpful:

http://www.mechmate.com/forums/showt...1&postcount=29

One could debate that if you purchase a cable chain with a tight enough radius, this isn't an issue but there isn't any "loss" to making the top of the brackets longer, it only pushes the mounting point up on the beam:

Hi Joe,
My first post on this forum...

If you don't already have a full parts order go ahead and put me down
for one more complete kit (for a total of 2 units).

Maybe if there's one slot left someone else who's on the fence might jump!

Again, thanks for putting the order together! And thanks to Gerald and the rest for getting me into this boodoggle.

Cheers!

It's only a boondoggle if you don't use it to make money.... I guess you could call that a hobby...

Hey, another Jeff, and one on the left coast, to boot!

I'm going to build one of these too, but I'm going to be a few months behind you, I suspect.

Keep us posted on your progress, it's good that another is being built in my (relative) neighborhood.

Ha! Thanks Jeff, Nice to meet you!

Yeah I've been a lurker for a long time and started collect the bits
and pieces. When I saw this post from Joe about getting all of the pieces
cut and delivered I decided it was time to jump.

The other thing that was holding me back was how to cut the rails but after
I saw DMoore's youtube video on the steelmax saw I was sold (Thanks David!)

I'll be starting this thing seriously in a few weeks so I'll keep you posted.
Let me know how your build goes as well!

Thanks for all the info and encouragement.

To add to the confusion - Another Jeff is here getting ready to build - I'm waiting on a quote here locally from my laser cutter, depending on what they come up with I would like to get in the parts order. I'm in Greensboro, NC (27410). Can't wait to get started.

Dang, I spoke too soon:

Serious warning for laser cutters and benders: Part 1060215 has been revised with longer legs in the cutting (P) drawing. This drawing also shows the engraving of the bend positions. However, the bending version (B) of that drawing does not show the longer legs yet. Bending as per the older B drawing will be incorrect. Bending must be done on the laser engrave, 100mm from the tips, as per drawing below:

November 07 was fine. It is the quick drawing patch I did 2 weeks ago that has the bug, that bug being on the bending only, not the cutting. If the supplier's read the drawings carefully, matching rev notes and dates, they could spot the oversight on my part. My supplier got it right for 5 sets - then he messed up one set delivered today (a week later).

He made another booboo: I recently supplied a bending drawing for 1030422B in .dxf format, from which I purposely deleted all the small holes so that there there would be no conflict with 1030422P which was to be used for cutting. Well, he saw two .dxf's for the same part, and laser cut from the bending drawing, leaving out all the small holes! Another solid argument for supplying minimal .dxf drawings.

I have more or less resolved to spend this weekend tidying up these little loose ends - but the house maintenance all needs to be done if the weather clears. . . .

Mamba Parts

Manny, A set of Mamba parts is $396.00. That is for 24 Parts and 8 Bearings that you will need for the rail skate.
I have two extra sets added to the cut list. One of them is yours, if you are ready.?
Send me your full shipping address so I can figure out what shipping is to you.

Thanks
Joe
