My first job
Here is the first sign I ever did with the MechMate. The power of LazyCam.
1/4" Fir plywood painted black and glued/screwed to Sign White Lexan. It looks nice at night with the lights on. 10 feet long. Micky's-Place.jpg |

John,
Looks great, how long did it take you to do this type of job? |

I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean cutting time?

John,
Yeah, cutting time, total time to finish any details would be interesting. |

It only took about 10 minutes to cut the letters, but the time on the total project was a bit longer as there was 3 coats of paint, some sanding, etc. It took a long time to get the plastic too, I think I waited about a month for that. Assembly was fast, under an hour and the customer was delighted which is a bonus.

As John illustrates, make a sign with a CNC router and then discover that the actual CNC part is just a small part of the process. If you did not have the CNC, the drawing up and sawing of the letters would have been the biggest part.
Great that you had a happy paying customer John! |
