Parting Out Old Non MechMate CNC

Hi all,

Need advise as usual. I have a rolling mm that am happy with and plan to complete.

A friend has just given me a cosmec NR/E complete in running order, this is far to big for me but has many usable parts. vacum table with pump, control console, 2 drills, 2 spindles and more. Here are several questions I have.

1: Are the spindels to big for the mm, they are 7.5 kw Gloldano-Colombos ?

2: Should i just keep the machine as a whole and sell it for parts, if so where?

3: Should i part the machine out and use as much as i can on my mm. an use a lot of small parts, if i part it out where is the best sites to go to?

4: Has AC tech controller 3 phase, will have to convert the spindels and controlled to 3 phase or use phaes-a-rator for the spindels and controller ?
Is this a problem since the remainder of the machine is single phase?

The list goes on need any advise and or help will be appriciated.

thanks all,

Al Drouin

Al, is there anything wrong with it? If it was me I would try and find the space to house and use it.

How about posting a picture of it?

But I agree with Russell, if you can use it and you have space, I would keep it.

no room

The cosmec is a great machine. I have seen it in action. It is fast and accurate but takes up an area of 20' x 30' let alone working area. I am now 61 and I don't I am willing to put in the effort in a new venture... think retire an play with mm a little that is why i am thinking the way i am. It is now sitting outside my garage covered up with the controles and asscessories inside. If some one is interested it would be a great affordable venture for them. Any takers????

thanks.

I managed to get my hands on a cosmec and it is really big.

I need to refurbish it and get it to work after his interface will be changed.
