A Photo section from various users

I was just wondering, if a photo section could be any good inhere.
I know cnczone has one, where you can see the various photo's from all users on the site.
I think it would be easier to find pictures of and study them to see what others have done in situations where I or any other might get stuck trying to figure something out..

I don't know if this site has enough serverspace for a photosection, but I think it would be a good idea...!!!

What do you guys think.?

Does anyone know of a web service that allows you to post photos and still link them from off their site?

Maybe that's a possible solution?

What I would find useful is lots of clost-up, high-res photos of completed MechMates.

Good high re closeups is the main reason why I asked to see if a photo section could be made possible... Each user could however create an account "free" on photobucket, and make an album that includes all their photo's of their mechmate, and link to that album in an albums section. This would be an easy way to do it, but then we would not have thumbnails.
It would be cool to have thumbnails so we can see the areas we would like to have a look at.

I agree with you - the thumbnails hosted off of mechmate.com and the full res versions of the photos hosted off photobucket.

on flickr you can host the picture and link to it as a clickable thumbnail that will open the full res photo keeping both the thumbnail and the hi res off site.

If you are an At&t Dsl subscriber you automatically get a pro account on flickr with unlimited photo storage. You could also try ipernity which is a flickr clone started by people that were flickr subscribers.

I have used FLICKR alot and i think it would be the way to go. It would be easy to sort through the various photos by using the "tags". A mechmate group could be started and photos posted on it could be assigned relevant tags which are really just keywords

Post Photo Upload Site

I have used PBASE for several years now.
Does cost a few bucks for a year, but I like the array
of options for displaying photos and adding text notations.

Always seems to be quick loading, (viewing).

See at www.pbase.com
