Los motores paso a paso, como bien dice kobus, los puedes comprar directamente en la web de motionking, pero veo que tienes ya unos controladores, deberías comprar unos motores acorde a tus controladores, ya nos dirás que modelo de controladores tienes.

Mi máquina está en un proceso de fabricación muuuuuuy lento así que aún no he probado los motores, pero tienes muchos ejemplos en el foro.

Even if it’s a little more on freight, in my view there still worth it !

After some days trying to resolve some problems, finally we have our MechMate air cutting.
Next week we will work on the Cable chains and putting the control electronic into the box.

Today we did our first cut and of course our first wood dust!!!!
Buecause we couldn't get the rack and pinions for X axis, we decided to implement a chain drive (after we saw it in the forum). We have the cable chain in place. Next week we will finish putting all the cables into the chains and connect them properly.
We almost finish the wiring for the proximity sensors. we expect in the short term to get a serial number.
Meanwhile we post some pictures of a circles and rombos cut recently in our MM, and a couple o videos showing our machine making wood dust.
We wanto to cut some Aluminium plates to make a pair of belt reduction for X axis in order to improve the cutting, can someone recomend us a cutter?, ipm, RPM's of the spindle, any advice will be welcome!!!.

It seems that you are using some USB controller and their software to run the motors, one thing which is obvious is that there is no CV (constant velocity) control in the video, motions gets to exact stop in or around corners, it slows down the cutting and as I think someone pointed to me it tends to dull the bits, you should try to find CV and exact stop settings in the software settings. Mach 3 has this and can be adjusted to preference.
Maybe also look for some settings for planning ahead, that is also responsible for correct tool path planing.

Thanks a lot for your comment Danilom. We are not using USB controller, we are using the parallel port and EMC2. I will look for CV and exact stop settings, we do not use Mach3.we will check correct tool path planing also.

rceja, you should play more with the trajutory control in EMC2, (G61, G64PX.XX) you may not need any belt reduction after all.

just for clarity, EMC2 already has the planner build in and that is controlled with what Ken states : G61 (Exact Stop) G64PX.XX (blend tolerance mode).

Mach3 calls these options a bit different, but they are just g codes for EMC2

We need some help in implementing a Z touch plate? we have been reading about Pyvcp, do you know some place to read more about it?

great job getting your mechmate cutting so quickly! However, I'm scared by your clamping in the cutting video.

Please use a clamp to hold the workpiece, not your hands. We've been through it on other discussions here, it's dangerous to put your hands near a machine-controlled router.

The mechmate will not stop when you say "ouch!"

you are absolutely right!!!, the hand in the video is my son's hand, while taking the video i told him about taking his hands out of that place because the danger implied. He understood and promisse me not to put anymore his hands near the spindle. It is better a broken bit than a bledding finger , thanks!!!!

are you planning to make any e-stops? If not, I can still strongly suggest to make them on all 3 sides of the machine. You don't use them often but when you do... it's quite handy

Yes, we plan to implement E-stops and limits/home via proximity sensor, in fact, tomorrow we will begin working on that. You are right in your comments, they should be there when we need them, even once in a year, or never!!!!

I took a guess at your start date since you already had an assembled table on your first post. Please provide the correct start date if very different for October 15, 2010. We do not count the studying and planning time before starting actual construction.

Please provide the cutting dimensions of your MechMate for the Builder's Log.

Also, please review the Builder's Log entry and let me know any changes you want to make to your entry.

Thank you John, we are very pleased and proud with our MM and #76 , now is the time to dig into the software and begin to learn how to be productive making wood stuff. In fact our first steel invoice is dated 03/Nov/2010, that is the exact date we began to cut steel, so is our begening construction date.
Our table cutting dimensions are X=244 cm Y=122 cm.
We saw the builder's log and think that is OK!!!!, excep for the begining date.
