Potential problems with placing diagonal braces
These pictures got me a bit worried the other day:
Look at the bottom ends of those diagonal braces . . . . . . . . A brace pushes/pulls and it needs a strong point to resist its push/pull forces. In the pics above it can be seen that the bottom ends of the braces will tend to bend the horizontal tubes since the brace is welded along a section of free horizontal tube. Those lower horizontal tubes are not strong for bending. The builder missed the <40 dimension on 1010310W (bottom left) rendering those diagonals less effectiven as table stiffeners. |
