Gerald: Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos. They are the nicest wedding photos I have ever seen (and I am not exaggerating!) Best of luck to the happy couple.

That is really sad for the swimmer. Swimming sure is hazardous in SA. Maybe that is why most people have pools.

Welcome back..
James, I had missed seeing this post at the time you made it, sorry. The beach sand was a coarse sand, but still a sand and not pebbles. Ave diameter under 0.1"

An interesting picture of Cape Town's "city bowl" area:

Cape Town is amazing. I like how the mountains wrap the city and exit into the ocean. The process for the panaramic was intense and ingenious. Gave me a few ideas of future projects. Now the shark attacks, if we ever visit, have sealed the deal for us staying "Land Lovers" I need my 2 legs.

Thanks for that update Gerald.

At the time of the Great Trek, the trekkers found a signpost near today's Bloemfontein which said:

Na die Transvaal (with an arrow pointing straight ahead), and
To Natal (with an arrow pointing right)

Those who could read Afrikaans went straight ahead, those who understood English turned right. And those who couldn't read stayed there.

Thats why my aunt married an Englishman. So that I could one day end up in Natal without being able to read any English sign boards.

As die Kaap die weer van Pretoria gehad het, dan was daar nie 'n Groot Trek nie.

It is BAD ,we get some drops of rain but just enough to dirty ones car.I am busy with plumbing work to use the bath and shower water for the garden. The worst thing of it all is that when they show its going to rain in our area one can actully see it raining over the ocean and not inland in the catchment area. The other thing is that when it eventually rains it floods everything like three years ago.The same heat that you had in December is what we have every day, about three weeks ago it got to a point that the workshop got so hot that I sent the workers home.
