It always amazes me when I read old hardware catalogs and books how little really has changed in the last 100 years. It's like Sean's comment here:

FYI - for those looking for out of copyright books, catalogs and the like - a good location is: http://www.archive.org In addition to print and media, you can even find old versions of websites (great for when they've removed something you saw in the past).
