1030450D The countersinks before welding . . . . what fits in there / plate rotated?

Sorry for the silly question - I've looked in the drawings and searched but haven't been able to come up with what type of bolt I'm countersinking for on the Y Car before welding - Help!

Thanks for the quick reply! I knew it was on a drawing somewhere.

10 30 450 Countersinking

Hi everyone,

I am reading heaps and examining the plans while waiting on quotes and have a question on the countersinking of part 10 30 450. Am I correct in reading the plans (rev C) that both plates are contersunk from the same side so that when the Y car is welded together one plate is rotated by 180 degrees?...

You read that right.

When you slot in the tabs for welding the car together, you will find that you have to rotate the one side 180 degrees, otherwise the tabs won't fit. (Check 1030450PG carefully - the center pair of tabs on top are offset to one side)

Thanks Gerald,

You have thought of everything.

I am very impressed with this project and also the fact that you manage to answer questions within 32 minutes, for a project you have released the plans for free to and technical support that is astounding that you don't get paid for. Maybe I need to start building to show my appreciation...

Regards,

Jayson.

Part 10 30 450

I screwed up and did not rotate one of the 10 30 450 by 180 degrees. I had no problems with the fitment (as far as I can tell) and I have already welded the y-car together. Do I need to remove one of the plates and rotate it (would this not cause more issues) or can I leave it as is.
Or should I order some new laser parts to build again.

Thanks for any help

Greg

Greg,

I don't believe this is an issue.
However, you have to make sure that 'somehow' you can countersink the inner side of 10-30-450 of the y-car. Or by other means make sure you can attach your motor to the y-car without a bold it touching the rails.

I was almost going to suggest to Mike and Gerald 'Make sure the tabs are different from left and right so it can only fit on one spot' Untill I did read 'Plates no longer handed left/right' 26-06-08

Hope I was clear...

Ries

Ries;

Thanks, I will try as is, and if there are any problems I will replace.
