Working on an new screenset for Mach for personal use. There is either way more stuff than I need or not enough. Using design ideas from different screensets I like.

On another note, I sure do mess up my spelling and grammar. Looking back through different posts I have made, there is a lot of mistakes. Sure wish there was a way to erase the stupidity and correct them.

Pete,

I am waiting until Mach 4 comes out. It will be easier to change things, if it ever actually happens.

Finally finished a sign I was working on. I will post the pictures on Monday after I give it to fellow I made it for. I don't want him to see the pictures on Flickr before I give it to him.

Russell inspired this post. It is about the results of the cyclone I made based on the Pentz cyclone plans.

Overall I am amazed at how well it does. I would recommend building one to anyone. I have more pictures on Flickr if anyone wants to see them.

Pete yours looks a little cleaner than mine. I think my next upgrade will be a bigger fan and motor. I am just using the HF dust collector for now. Either way yours is impressive. Can you take a pic of the overall view.

Pete, did you do the development drawing "by-hand" or software generated?

It was all drawn out in cad first. The sheet metal was drawn with a permanent marker with the machine.

Here they are. Click on any picture to open up in Flickr for more viewing options. The sign needed to sit on a table. It needed a stand that could travel easy and take up little space. On the back there are two EZ Lok thread adapters. Using two 1/4"-20 bolts the sign hangs in place with those.

Aspire for the model.

The title I have asked to be changed to something more relative but no such luck yet.

I thought you used Aspire. Looks like v5 might be previewed at the Oct. user group meeting in Orlando.
I knew you were wanting a title change, so I thought I'd bring it up.....

How long have you been working on that ladybug Pete? A year? You might want to try a different insect...like a Bee or something... Oh really like the sign, sharp.

Could you elaborate a little on the sign process?
Looks like 1x poplar wood? Did you edge glue a couple of 1 x 6's? (not sure of the finished sign dimensions). And the part that I have no clue about, is painting? Prime the whole sign then ? is that all freehand, stencil, taped off....?

Mark, it is poplar. I bought it glued together planed and sanded. I can't beat the local prices of the local wood planing mills. Cheaper than buying the wood and gluing myself. It was sized to 30" x 30" 1.25". It was edge glued. The highest part of the sign was 1.22". The painting was in this order, primed it all, the top coat was all hand painted (freehand no taping); all lettering is V carved and hand painted (again freehand and no taping); all pieces were finished with a satin sealer. Painting is not my strong point but I was very pleased with the end result.

I do notice some milling marks in the pockets, might it be your z is not 100% perpendicular !?

I only clamped it in 3 places. Wood moves a lot when you remove more than 3/4 the thickness and I did not account for that. I was a little shocked to see it myself after all the pocket is very small. I have seen it more with smaller cutters then larger ones. It left a stepped effect look but the kids don't care. They liked helping paint it.
