Is this wireless keyboard okay?

Folks I have a 2.4GHz wireless keyboard - will that be a problem on the Mechmate controls

Since I already have it - I will give it a try - also will it be able to work across the metal cabinet ? since the usb receiver will be inside the metal cabinet.

Hi Ifran,

I am using a shintaro wireless keyboard and have had no problems with it so far. I placed the receiver on an extension lead so that I could get it outside the enclosure. I have not gotten that far yet, it is still inside the control box and is working fine from at least 10 meters away.

Regards,

Jayson

Many people control their ShopBots successfully with wireless keyboards, mice and gamepads. But, success is not guaranteed. Wireless networks seem to be more problematic. The presence of VFDs for spindles is also sometimes a headache.
