Mechmate #112 Not For Sale Anymore! :)

Hi all,
Half the reason I bothered getting a serial number is that I have hit a rough patch financially, and it is time to let a few of my toys go. Unfortunately my poor Mechmate doesn't make enough money to justify the amount of space it takes in my small shop.

That being said I thought I would offer it up for sale here.

Basically I am selling everything you need to start cutting, TURNKEY!
Includes:
3hp Chinese spindle with Hitachi S200VFD and water pump (controlled by Mach3 via Modbus)
Computer with Mach 3 installed.
Gantry and Y car are all powder coated for durability.
Bolt together design for easy transport.
5 - G203V Stepper drivers (4 for the machine and 1 spare, or to use for a 4th axis)
6 - Nema 34 640oz Stepper motors, 4 on the machine and 2 spares
2 - PMDX-122, 1 in the machine and 1 spare
Custom 3:1 belt drives on all axis.
Z axis is made from my own design featuring 25m Hiwin linear guides and bearings.
X and y axis use the vrail guides from superior bearing mounted on aluminum

This is the perfect machine for someone who wants one but doesn't have the time to build one. This machine is located in Phoenix, AZ and it would have to be picked up at my shop.
Asking $7000 O.B.O.
Feel free to email me with questions.

Very sorry to hear of your rough patch, John.
I'd venture to say it will cost a potential buyer almost as much if not possibly more, to duplicate your machine.
Shame you can't hang on to it for a few months.
Once word got out, a couple new clients have "contributed" greatly to recoup my MM expenses, and I still have the machine.
Good luck with your sale, it looks to be a quality build.

Yeah

You should run a CL add announcing you have the machine services available.

Also that price point is a little low in my book for a complete turnkey machine. !!!

CL has been a bust for me. People think it should be dirt cheap "since the machine basically runs itself." A $20 job seems to be the price point of the average CL responder in my area.
A day spent going to cabinet and sign shops with a well made brochure would be a better investment of time in my opinion.

As Darren stated, Craigslist in my area is really a bust. I also signed up on 100kgarages.com, but every potential client seemed to want to pay dirt. For example, I had 1 person ask for a qoute on a job, cutting 18mm plywood sheets into 20 parts. The job took 2hrs per sheet the way she designed it, and I was cutting at 400 in/min. She was only willing to pay $30 a sheet

Here is a pic of part of yesterdays job...
This lady was paying an older gentleman to cut these out with a scroll saw.
When he passed away, she quit selling because no one else would touch them for $.75 apiece.
I told her I could do it for that, no problem and everyone would be exactly the same.

2- $14 sheets of 1/8" Baltic Birch. 300 pieces per sheet About 50 minute run time per sheet, and another half hour in clean up....... 600 x $.75 less $28 in material........you do the math.

Its out there. Dig it up. It WILL NOT come to you.

BTW, she gave me the names of two other crafters who used the same gentleman who passed, who can't find a person to take over his workload for them either.

I think with some effort, $500 a day serving this market would be feasible.
