Builder's Log Update

Thanks for the updates, Rceja.

Here is the Updated Builder's Log.

We are proud of your MechMate too. And such a quick build, only 3 months, less than half the AVERAGE. Good luck as you learn to use your MechMate and keep us posted with pictures (please) of your projects.

Houses look somewhat the same here aswell, you don't have bars if you have a wall of 3 meters though!! That was quite a change when I moved from holland where the biggest wall around a garden is something you can jump over.

After a while learning about the cam software, finally we did our firs alu cut, we cut or reductor alu plates. It feel fine when you see the MM cutting alu like butter (0.5 mm per pass), 10000 RPM, 6 mm cutter and 20 IPM. Finally we got our plates and the bearings fit just fine, we are very happy of that. We show you some picutres of our plates!!!!

Hi Tuan,we use the laptop just for designig with the CAM soft, we have a desktop running Ubuntu and EMC2 to control de MechMate, in fact our laptop does not have a paralell port!!!, i beleive that laptops are not recommended because of latency issues.
In a while i will upload a small video cutting our plates!!.
Thanks for your comments!!!!

So, how did you hold the part down? It sounds like (in the movie) when you translate to the x-cut you get extra bit chatter from the part moving.....or am I missing something?

We use double adhesive tape, several strips along the alu piece, that way you can get a strong holdig force. That's all we did. No chatter at all, in fact it was quite difficult to remove the tape once we finished cutting.

after a long time out of the game, finally we are on again in a new location.
I this place it is quite difficult to get a 220 vac line, so we decided to rewire a toroidal transformer to drive the VFD for the spidle. It worked fine !!!!!!!
