#28 may be up for sale
Hi all,
I am considering selling MM #28 instead of moving it to another building again. 5 x 10, standard build with 5HP 1/2" Aircooled HSD spindle. Dust collection tube, foot. Has Z height finding / zero attachment and Laser x/y display. Will need new spoil board after move, but otherwise in working order. Location is Orlando, Florida. Price is Negotiable, 7-8K preferred. Feel free to message for details. Cheers, Sean |

Hi Sean,
Have you ever done aluminum on this? I'm looking for something to cut hull panels for welded aluminum boats, .125 and .188 material. Multi pass would be ok, and I could also upgrade the spindle if I need, and the structure is rigid enough for it. Next question would be how to get it to the west coast of Canada It's a long drive! |

Hi EM, for the cost of fuel today, it would be cheaper to actually build the table. The quick answer is yes, Aluminum is fine. On table #5 (and a few others on here) aluminum has been easily done on the the table and that was with a 5hp router. I have frequently done 3/16 as you ask about on this table with the spindle. The trick is the right bit. https://hartlauerbits.com/ in Oregon is an amazing resource for helping you choose and source the right bit, speed and chip load against the material you are cutting.
