Laser Cutting Thin Material and Etching on a MM?

Saw this today and thought it might be adaptable to the MM if someone wanted to try it!

Personally I am a little skeptical of how well it will work. The minimum I have seen for more conventional really low end engraver/cutters is 20W and he is working with a 5W.
