Thanks ... I guessed as much, but this o'l Texan has trouble decypering English, since Texan is my first language, and others really aludeme.

my first test leg

So I had time to complete my stand alone lathe.After many wasted material this is what I came up with.I must say this is one huge challenge.

It also takes ages to turn so now it is time to figure out the shortest route to make a rounding blank and the rough cut.

Pete,Yes I am pleased but there is a huge learning curve waiting.I need to sort out a couple of things still.( dead stops,some more motor tuning,get the z-axis square to the project it is cutting ) the z- axis is smooth the rotary axis / y-axis is sorted it is only the x-axis that needs some more work.
