Starting build 2800x2100 - Bulgaria, Asparuhovo

Hi my name is Ivo. First of all sorry for my bad english.

I am from Bulgaria and have interest in building cnc from 5-6 years. I have made 1 cmc, but it was very amateur project. I have now time and some money to start a nicer and bigger build. About a year ago i discover this forum and start reading and reading and i remember that in my pc i have some file with "mechmate" in filename - search for it and voala - plans for mechmate. Now i start to buy things for my mashine. Here is what i plan to do - say if i am wrong

10. Base Table i do from rectangular tube

20. Gantry i do from C lasier 200mm on one side 75 on the other - 25kg/meter

30. Y-Car - in my version of mechmate plans i have .dxf files of lasercut parts. I send them to local laser and bending company and he said it is no problem to do the job. The support of Y plan to be 100/50/3 or 4mm rectangular tube

40. Z-Slide - same as in the plans but with trapezoid screw and nema23 motor, because i already have 4 of them

Motors & their mountings - 3 pieces of nema34 6Nm 1.8* step for X and Y and nema23 3.1Nm for Z and A axis. For X and Y i do Obuhus's reductions

Rails & Rollers - i plan to make rollers in local lathe workshop using this plan

http://www.mechmate.com/forums/attac...1&d=1316512754

with 2 pieces of 6001 bearing on each roller. Planning price is 100$ for complete set of 14 rollers

Rack and pinion - want to use mod1 or 1.5 from http://www.chiaravalli.com/ - they have a local supplier in my country. The price is about 60$ for 3 meter mod 1 rack. If i use mod 1 what pinion i should use - 20 theth or 24

So this is the questions i have my self answered with reading forum and looking in the plans.

Starting this week and planning date of finish is 9.2012, because of money problem

Hi all! Today my parts arrive from lasercut company. Looks all is OK, but we will see that in the future. I ordered only 1 set of motor mounting block with drawings from Dimitry's belt reducer. I will try to reproduce Dimitry's reducer from this drawing

http://www.mechmate.com/forums/attac...1&d=1253130057

if i have success then i will order another 2 sets of mounting plates and the rest of parts. I checked for timing belt and pulleys localy and find 20 tooth, 60 tooth pulleys at 16mm wide and 355mm belt T5.

And here is my lasercut parts. They cost me about 105$ for now

Will work great, 2.2mH is nice low inductance and the holding torque is 5.8Nm

Yes i know that, but i will try something

Z will be with ballscrew or trapezoidal screw, - don't know yet.

I will try on Z axis nema23 3.1Nm stepper motor, because i already have 4 of them. If i have trouble with this configuration i go for nema34 in Z axis too.

If you use screw on Z axis I think that 3Nm will be enough.

Ivo, Nema23 + ball screw is useless at the Z-axis. I had loose step problem with it.
NEma34 worked flawlessly.

Hi Ivo, I am planning to build a MM in Hungary. Do you think that the company which did yours in Sofia would be able to send them to Hungary? Do they still have the plans from you so that if I contact them, they would know what to produce?

Many thanks,
Andras
