what brake to use
I am a newbie in this kind of problems but I got the task of finding a brake for a motor on a test bench. The motor would rotate at maximum if no brake would be applied (you just enter torque from the motor point of view) and that would burn some circuits.
My task is to find a brake which is either Hysteresis brakes,Eddy current brake or Magnetic particle brake and has - at least 2-3Nm - at least 1000rpm - voltage controlled So in the end we enter 1Nm at the motor and 1000rpm from the brake and it should work perfectly. Do you have a model in mind, or some suggestions? I've lost myself at grainger site with all of their offers so please help me. |

Darkseid,
This forum is for the building of the CNC machine we call the Mechmate. There is no need for brakes on this machine so I am not sure if anyone has the background to help here. A forum suited to motors might offer more expertise to you. |
