This post was taking my sleep.

I cut straight, parallel and beautiful?

Gerald, I have two left hands.

After thinking a bit, I have found the solution to cut a plate.

Fixed the plate to a angler. A angle table and fixed the cut. I think it was good.

Maybe someone has a simpler solution.

Jack thanks for your message.

I'm doing this.

Work helps to liberate the mind.

Z-Slide

OK the cut was perfect.

Now I am with this question:

The rail has 100mm. The Z-Plate has 87mm.

But the rails do not come on board.

Is still wide.

What's the solution ?

Cut the plate or increase the distance of the holes more than 132mm ?

Yuri,
Your small tabs on the spider are not bent at 90 deg? What is the reason to having your holes in the Z plate offset? Or am I seeing things?

Because the company that made the bend could not do.

I am still thinking how am I going to do this.

I do not understand this part. " What is the reason to having your holes in the Z plate offset? "

Yuri,

I read somewhere on the forum that some people had cut the tab off and welded it back on in the right position.

It looks like that is the way mine had been done.

Yuri,

I see what Heath is talking about. If you look at the pic of your z plate it looks like the holes are offset to one side (not centered on the plate).

Yuri, 2 left hands but smart thinking!

Why do you already have the 6 rollers mounted before finishing the width of the slide? Did I give a 132mm dimension by mistake somewhere?

Also see this post. Measure the rollers against the slide as in that photo, then you can calculate the final width. (11mm different)

Heath and Greg M,

There is no optical illusion. I picked one side to cut.

I did not want to cut the two sides to have the correct angle.

Gerald,
132mm in 10 40 432.

Mount the V-Roller to make sure the size of the plate

This is the question. I measured as the photo and was 127.85 mm

What to do ?

Now I understand the 11mm.

The correct value is then 143mm.

Correct ?

The drawin gives the 132mm inside brackets as (132), which means to check it first. Also it says "approx TO SUIT SLIDE & V-ROLLERS" which also means to check it against the slide and rollers. (Americans work with 4" plate that is wider than 100mm.)

You will have to make a new slide plate because all those holes must be center on the plate (to prevent problems with the pinion gear & rack and the gas spring). When you make the new plate, you can make it to the right width to fit the rollers.

Gerald, wait a little longer.

Present it now will make me ashamed.

The best speed in continuous use is 600mm/s (36.000mm/min) that I believe should be the default for Direct Drive (no reduction).

Not bad for big motors.

BUT, consider that the tests are empty.

Z axis

Kobus,
This is really an addiction.
I propose an option for the "Z".
Gerald perhaps to include to BBBs.
Pictures of this change, soon.

Gerald,
Note that the fixed rack on the rail. Seems to work.
