Can anyone help me to identify this font please?

What is the font used for the word LIFTLOGGER in the logo on www.liftlogger.com?
A close similarity from a free download would be appreciated - thanks!

Visit this website --> http://www.identifont.com

The font is similar to IMPACT with the wrong R but also similar to FF GOVAN ONE with the wrong G

On that website, search for fonts like IMPACT & FF GOVAN ONE then it will give you the option to search for similar fonts.

Most good fonts are licensed however.

I heard from someone that the problem may be that I use a PC while the original graphic was done on a MAC. That font might well have been MAC Impact which is slightly different to PC Impact, or something like that......

I don't think that it's related to MAC or PC but more related to commercial uses of font libraries that are not free in general, most designers who pay for fonts get access to great font designs that are not over used and generic like Arial e.t.c

I am not aware where the font can be obtained free however.

Hi Gerald

Wish I knew and certainly can't find it for you.

The News Gothic MT font is readily downloadable for free but it does not give the taller squashed "condensed" text you are no doubt after.

My only suggestion is to use the News Gothic MT font, snapshot the text and squash it in a photo package if you can use an image rather than text for what you want.

Regards
Ross

Best I can do is this: Monotype News Gothic MT Condensed Bold, but the G body is not straight as your logo, so maybe it was edited, dunno. Using coreldraw, I added some outline to the font to make it bolder and besides the G the logo looked pretty similar.

Hope it helps

PS: For obvious reasons edit my post when you download it

Good point Pablo....the font may have been edited to kind of make it unique to that logo design and would share features from different fonts. Unless a MM forum member knows a graphic designer / illustrator that can positively identify the font, i think we need to concede it could also be a hybrid.

Thanks for taking all the trouble guys. I think that I will just trace it and turn it into a vectorised file. Havn't done tracing for a couple of years....is inkscape still used?

Here you go, for the G and the O I used a mix of the News Gothic and Impacta, a little tweaking here and there and it looks pretty similar to the Logo on your page.
Hope it works for you, exported it to DXF and Adobe Illustrator. BTW, I used coreldraw, no line traces

Thanks Pablo, but my AutoCAD does not want to open the .dxf. I will fight with it tomorrow if I can still find TurboCAD or Vector on a PC.

BTW, the other day I returned late to home and I saw/heard the garbage truck collecting guy shouting some serial number to the driver, is that what your system replaces/aggregates?

The bin used here are like these ones: http://is.gd/duJfC

Pablo, because AutoCAD "invented" the .dxf format they have the attitude that they alone control thw format of it and they do not easily accept .dxf's produced by other programs.

Yes, that picture shows the big bins of 660 and 1100 liter size, used by shops and small businesses. Every house here has a 240 liter bin and there are 800 000 of the small bins in Cape Town.

Imagine if the shop gives those guys $5 (or a chicken) if they do not shout out the number.......

Dont know if your still interested Gerald but I get all my fonts from

www.1001freefonts.com

I have found some really nice fonts but some need a little editing due to open/loop vectors but I have been able to machine 99% of the ones I got.
