The father & son team that built the MM seemed a bit nervous at first that I was paying them a visit, but they did relax and took me around to their workshop to look at their blue beast. I didn't stay long and didn't take pictures. They wish they had more work for their MM though.

Noooo no no Robert, If my father had built a Mechmate it would probably have windscreen wipers modded to try and work like steppers, and then he would wonder why it didnt work. He is most renowned for butchering a 1952 Daimler (Black with burr walnut dash and leather interior) by dropping in a V8 Chev motor, which destroyed the gearbox (something about too much torque) that led to a 3 speed crash box transplant, which then required a new diff etc etc etc... No, we are not the same when it comes to mechanical wizadry I tend to stick with whats realistic.

Last week we took a well deserved little holiday to show our little one and his friend the Cape.
Left on Sunday morning 03h00 from Johannesburg and arrived around 16h30 in Worcester at my friends wine farm. Monday to Friday in Cape Town. Then drove up to Springbok to visit my daughter that stays there. Left on Sunday via Augrabies waterfall to Vryburg and slept at my eldest sisters place. Monday back home.
