6mm Aluminium

Hi and well done on a great resource.

I am looking to build a cnc router capable of cutting up to 32mm mdf or plywood, and also able to cut up to around 6mm aluminium.

Could you please let me know if cutting these materials require special attention and upgrading of any components.

Thanks

Leon

The mechmate is PERFECT for these requirements. Happy building! I would highly recommend you use at least a 2.2kw, preferably larger spindle if you plan on cutting a lot of alum. Additionally, if you plan on using coolant while cutting, I would substitute phenolic or PVC extruded sheet as the spoil board for "washdown" duty. Good luck
