I don't have any experience with a 5 axis...

I don't have any experience with a 5 axis machine. I was basing desires on what I've seen other 5 axis machines do. :)

I think I can "survive" with a 4 axis.

I wonder how much additional length you'd need to add to put the 4th axis at the end of the machine? I suppose it depends...

Smallest project size for a full size MM?

Just wondering what the smallest project size can be done with a "full" size Mechmate, one with an appx. 4x8' work area.

Can you do real small stuff, like custom etching dog tags for example as...

Hey everyone,

Been perusing the forum for a week or so, trying to learn all I can.

I build movie props/replicas in my spare time, and I'm looking at a CNC machine as a potential future family...
