I don't know about Alaska but when you are in Hawaii (absolutely beautiful place) you do not refer to your departure back home to the lower 48 as returning to the United States, you refer to as the...

I noticed the cut quality on the diamond and circle cutouts to be pretty good as far as I could tell from the pictures. Does a chain drive eliminate some of the issues on cut quality by not...

I don't know
Heck, I don't know why someone decided to make 12 inches per foot, 5280 feet per mile. Or divide inches into half, quarters, sixths, 32nds, 64ths. From time to time I have held the reasons for...

If you are going to build a Mechmate, do your numbers by the cost of setting up a Mechmate without spindle, without dust collection, simple holddown schemes, etc. If you can afford to do the setup...

Understand What's Offered
I looked hard at building the MM. I had to decide after looking at this site and what is offered for free, if this is what I wanted (or needed) to do. I decided that building the MM would be my...

Panel Labels
I have noticed that the panels (most panels?) shown have not had any labels directing the use of the panel. I would think this would be a OSHA requirement in the US. If the MM is used to build...

How I handle snakes
The only way I deal with rattlesnakes (makes me quiver just to type the word) is at the end of a shotgun 20 feet away. Oh wait, I don't have a shotgun, I guess you know what direction I go in.

Isolate Vibration?
I have been lurking around the MM Site for awhile now and I am seriously looking to build a Mechmate. Time is precious, but it seems to me that the entry machines are just not robust enough and I...
