Motore Stepper directly on the rack

Can you tell meif it is you can mount a motor directly on the rack without any type of gearbox and stepper motor to take power

You can direct drive the system without a gear box. NEMA 34 Motors are what the system uses.

Is where I would start. It talks a lot about the different motors. Also look at the "MechMates Already Cutting" and you will see completed builds and can learn from those threads also.
