How do the eccentric bushings for the v-rollers work?
 
Can someone please explain to me how the eccentric bushings for the v- rollers work? I searched and read through the plans and can't find anything that explains how to use them.

The plans show how to drill the eccentric hole in the appropriate size bolt but doesnt really explain how it's used. What is that eccentric holes for?

I know what its for but just dont know how it works exactly.

Charles,

I will give this a shot but I expect that Gerald will give you a better one.

The Z slide rides up and down nestled between the V Wheels. The V Wheels are attached to the Spider Plate with bolts through the hole in the V Wheels and Eccentric Bushings. The V Wheels need to be snug against the Z slide so that the Z slide can slide up and down easily.

The Eccentric Bushings give you the ability to adjust the V Wheels horizontially. Thus adjusting the amount of pressure or how snug the V Wheel is against the Z slide.

This is important for verticle adjustment of the Z slide so it is riding perpendicular to the plane of the table.

It is also important so that you can adjust the V Wheels if you didn't drill the V Wheel holes in the spider plate in the right place. If holes are off slight which is the case for many of us, you can still adjust the V Wheels so they will be snug against the spider plate.
