Gas Spring Stroke Length

Looking at drawing 10 40 014, for the 10" z-slide assembly, my version of the drawings calls for a gas spring with a 14" stroke. I am assuming this is a typo, but figured I should ask in case I am missing something.
So, am I missing something...?

I don't have a drawing set, so I can't check, but there are some drawing title mistakes between 10" and 14". If the drawing number is 10 40 014 then this suggests it is a 14" drawing and the title may incorrectly be referring to 10".

Hah! And there we go. The other drawing calls for a 10" slide. Problem solved.

Next question becomes the spring rating. My router (Porter Cable 7518) plus z slide weigh 25lbs. I assume I am going for a 30lb spring? Since I have the rack to add, plus whatever dust collection I use...

Eric,
I had the same set up. 30lb spring should be fine. You want the z-slide to be positive loaded so if you have a failure, it goes up and not down into the table.

Remember to install the gas strut properly to avoid seal damage.

Heh, yeah, I have been reading those threads. :-)
