Sorry Kobus,

I made the quick connection plate manually on a mill using DRO setpoints. The spindle does have 6 pre tapped hole in its body

Graeme

Thanks. Can you give me the centre to centre dimentions so long. Then I can start with my plate.

Kobus, Attachment 11650 is the file supplied by HSD, but the 36 mm between centers has been 30mm on one of our spindles.

Thank's Gerald.

Graeme and Dan, did you also pick up this problem ?

Maybe it will be safe to wait and measure it ON the actual spindle.

As I recall it was 30mm horizontal and 45 mm vertical total 90mm vertical.

I am talking about the air cooled 3kw huanyang spindle pretapped mounting holes on the back of body..

Here is our spindle with the 30mm spacing:

Kobus, sorry to confuse you, that first drawing with 36mm was a 4.5kW big one. Safest is to wait.

Also watch that the screws don't bottom in the tapped holes - they are very close to the coils inside. Don't make them too short either, otherwise you will strip the alu.

I have found that the ebay seller list the same spindle multiple times with different pricing so best to scroll thru all his listings

Kobus_Joubert Mon 25 April 2011 13:04

Different price, but then also different shipping cost...in the end the same price...

I run my present 2.2kW spindle in the region of 8~10A most of the time @16000~20000rpm depending on the cutter sharpness...
Been dreaming about uprating the spindle when money is available...
BUT 3kW or 4kW spindle... Just can not make up my mind...
