The "Soccer" world cup is 2 weeks away still.

Right now we have more important football to be played. It is half-time in the final game between the Pretoria and Cape Town rugby teams. (Blue Bulls against the Stormers) in the Super 14 Championship. We are behind on points . . . . . :(

After this game, we will turn our attention to the FIFA World Cup :)

FOOTBALL

PEU Sat 29 May 2010 11:58

Best of Luck G!

Football/Futbol/Soccer/Calcio/Futebol/etc in the whole world, with the sole exception of USA and maybe Canada means this:

:) :) :)

DeadGuy Sat 29 May 2010 12:05

Those round ones are just to hard for us to catch!

Dennis, you can manage without the helmet if you discard all the plastic that is worn under the clothes! :D

Helmets, in these situations, would be dangerous!

Jan de Ruyter Sun 30 May 2010 00:40

Pablo, you guys are most welcome in Pretoria! It's winter here now, but the temperature is very moderate but they can expect frost in the morning. UP has excellent facilities which will no doubt increase your team's chances. We even had some light rain last night which will help to keep the temperatures up.

And now, for a better subject: BLOU BULLE BO!

If there are any Stormers supporters: Hoe se mens dankie? (soos gesing deur Jurie Els)

If there any Lions supporters left: Anybody south of the Jukskei is now free to join the Blou Bulle.

Rugby is not football! Football (or soccer) is for prima donnas! (Sorry Pablo!)

American football consists of small men playing in excessive padding and protective gear and is only understood by Americans.

In rugby, the only protective gear is a scrum cap to prevent cauliflower ears and underpants.

Joking... I do like rugby, my son is learning to play it at school, last time I went to stadium to see a rugby match Los Pumas defeated Wales.

And lets not forget, in 2012 we will play each other on the Tri+1 Nations :)

Jan de Ruyter Sun 30 May 2010 09:43

Kobus, no man, this is GROSSSSSS, this is what we used to call this TEIN OPS. This is an East Rand Lions supporter in Blou Bulle disguise, the RED lips are a dead giveaway.

Pablo, we have already kicked 10 of your 'barras bravas' out of this country, and number 11 is in jail. :)

PEU Wed 09 June 2010 13:50

Excellent... your country would do us a BIG FAVOR if you keep all of them forever there :)

PEU Sat 12 June 2010 13:50

Argentina 1 - Nigeria 0

Step 1 - Done! (6 more to championship!)

Im already hating the vuvuzelas... :)

"U.S. soccer team plays to 1-1 draw with favored England at World Cup"

Is this good? Schucks! Who new we even had a team!;)

PEU Sat 12 June 2010 15:18

a tie with the group strongest team is always good news, the US team did not played a good match, it was a tie mostly due to a HUGE error of England goalie.

Jan de Ruyter Sun 13 June 2010 09:11

@Dennis:
US Soccer team beats UK Football team?
Were they playing in the same tournament?

Nope, the story I saw said it was a tie. Hey your just trying to trick me, ;) using the words football and soccer in the same sentance. You know it isn't the same:eek:

Jan de Ruyter Sun 13 June 2010 13:23

Two nations divided by a pond and a common language.

quadtech Wed 16 June 2010 10:39

Cheap fix for a noisy router/spindle - get yourself a....
Vuvuzela!!

Claudiu Thu 17 June 2010 05:53

Our nerds from europe have brought up interdiction for Vuvuzelas:(, only hooligans are accepted. ..... something is badly (sadly) wrong

Gerald D Thu 17 June 2010 07:14

I think that 1 meter long vuvuzela should be banned - it was the idea of a plastics company only 10 years ago.

PEU Thu 17 June 2010 07:31

Argentina 4 - South Korea 1

Step 2 - Done! (5 more to championship!)

Vuvuzelas costed us a goal, the defender did not hear the warning about the Korean attacker... d@mn vuvuzelas

PEU Tue 22 June 2010 15:50

Argentina 2 - Greece 0

Step 3 - Done! (4 more to championship!)

Sorry Sergio-K :)

wintersgillg Tue 22 June 2010 16:48

Result

At least your football team did better than your rugby team who lost both tests to Scotland :-)

I find it very amusing hat Engerland have not qualified yet - the media are getting all uptight and suggesting all sort of reasons why they are not strolling into the final.

But some of the jokes are good.

Engerland are to get a new coach -they will board it at Heathrow on Friday

PEU Sun 27 June 2010 15:55

yup, but we smoked France yesterday in a test mach here in Buenos Aires.

On the world cup news:

Argentina 3 - Mexico 1
Step 4 - Done! (3 more to championship!)

:)

Gerald D Sat 03 July 2010 09:40

Pablo, what happened? Why "smoked" by 3-0 at this point?

Gerald D Sat 03 July 2010 09:50

4-0!

That's not smoked, that's a barbeque! :D

KenC Sat 03 July 2010 10:00

Absolutely unbelievable!
It is true, the ball is round...

PEU Sat 03 July 2010 11:06

sh!t... the dream is over... :(

I'm sad, the country is sad, I don't recall hearing a silence so strong, after the game, we, the whole Argentina, were dead for 10 minutes, sh!t

(sorry for venting)
