Ross,

Interesting design what are you planning to cut with it - Foam?

isladelobos Fri 19 December 2008 06:21

I think it is possible for all purposes,

adding different tables with wheel
or rotary tables with a more axis

Depending on the hardness of the court, adjusting the distance between the table and Z

Am I missing something? I can't find the 6th axis.

isladelobos Fri 19 December 2008 07:34

Yes Greg.

The X are two motors and two drivers but is a axis movement.

5 Axis but for the software are 6

Very interesting. ... Looks like one where you could 'roll a table' into place, and roll it out and another in.

Now if it was 12' wide and I hung the X axis from the ceiling, I could use my whole garage as a CNC shop! ... Gotta stop day dreaming. ... To much caffine!

Ros,

instead of making the Z-Axis so long I would suggest making a lift-table instead and keep the Z-Axis short. This would make the system a lot more stable.

The Lift table doesn't have to be so precise in hight as long as you make some mechanism to auto find hight. See this post for a sample on how that could work: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56079
