The new "Market Place" - vendors invited to set up shop
 

Hi All

We have started to attract the attention of people and companies wanting to promote their services and products, for commecial gain. Absolutely nothing wrong with that!

But, I do not want to get to a situation where the "advertising" clutters a discussion. You might have noticed that I don't allow "signature lines" or avatars where attention is repeatedly and boringly drawn to the self-image of the poster. On some other forums the flow of the discussion is completely cluttered by the long signatures.

In this Market Place forum, vendors are free to start a thread and in that thread they can use any signature that they want. Prices and special offers can be announced and discussed openly. So far I can think of only 2 rules:
- only one thread per vendor
- the vendor's URL or company name must be prominent in the thread title.

Let's see how it goes . . . . . . .

Want to add a third rule:

- The product on offer must be of interest to a MechMate builder, in that the product can be used for the MM construction or operation.
