Dovetails more trouble than they're worth?

This isn't a new idea, it's been done before, but not with a CNC router as far as I know. These were cut with a 1/4" straight bit. The "pins" side was cut with the panel held vertically at the end of the table.

The biggest challenge is registering zero in precisely the right location.

Jeff the joint looks good. When you have access to the side like your doing the imagination can run wild.

Now for dovetails have a look at this thread starting at post 9.

I guess there's nothing new under the sun. The joint above is called a "pin and scallop" or "Knapp" joint.

It was invented by Charles Knapp in 1867.
