Cape Town about 34C today

Gerald D Wed 18 January 2012 11:20

Why do people willingly live in places where the temps go that low? What are the advantages?

darren salyer Wed 18 January 2012 12:01

You can leave milk out without it spoiling?

Gerald D Wed 18 January 2012 12:08

Who wants to chew their milk?

danhamm Wed 18 January 2012 12:19

There's possibilities at 40 below, that aren't obvious, just ask the woman if she would like to crawl in the sleeping bag.!!

Alan_c Wed 18 January 2012 13:03

At minus 40 it wouldnt help having her in the sleeping bag, I wouldnt be able to find it:p

domino11 Wed 18 January 2012 13:11

About -20C here this morning and -11C this afternoon. :)

Gerald, we just put a stick in the milk and lick it when it gets that cold, we call them Popsicles. :)

danhamm Wed 18 January 2012 13:38

Your warm water trick looks even better when its a smoking hot cup of coffee..... It too drifts off in the wind.... with a woosh

P.s. Its a beautiful 29 Degrees C here in Southern Queensland Australia. (that's about 84 degrees F for you Northerners)

PEU Thu 19 January 2012 06:14

10AM and its already 25C, prolly over 30C at 2PM again :)

There is a story I'm sure you all read, about a guy that goes for the 1st time to live in a place where it snows, its hilarious, here is one version of it: http://sofinesjoyfulmoments.com/humor/ilovesnow.htm
