Excellent, welcome aboard! It looks like you're making good progress.

Doug_Ford Mon 24 August 2009 10:20

Hey Brad. Since you're South African, I'm sure you already have a beard. If not, you need to start growing one. :D

Kobus_Joubert Mon 24 August 2009 12:01

Welcome Brad, just shout If I can help...is this another NEXT TO THE POOL build ? :D

domino11 Mon 24 August 2009 12:34

Welcome Brad,
Does everyone in SA have a beard, pool and tile patio? Seems like from the pictures on this forum. :)

Lex Mon 24 August 2009 23:17

Welkom Brad!

Brad Maritz Tue 25 August 2009 10:43

I have it all.

Thank for the warm welcome.Yes I have a beard and the rest.Although I am originally from Zim, that were I grew up.I love wood and am in the solid wooden floor industry in SA . Most of the floors I lay are teak or rose wood strip flooring and decks. So once my machine is up and running I have a lot of beautiful wood to work with. Today the rest of the steel came for the table.

hennie Tue 25 August 2009 22:27

Nice to see another S.A. builder, welcome.

Nice work Brad. Would you not want some diagonal members in your front and back sections?

Brad Maritz Sun 28 February 2010 21:47

I think that would be a good idear to put in some diagonal.I will pick up some more tubing today.I have also got to get the adjustable feet mountings.

Has anyone used this Bosch Router GMF 1400 CE Professional it runs 8.000 to 24.000 rpm is a 1.400w weights 3.6kg

hennie Mon 08 March 2010 23:13

Yes,Alan In the Cape uses one

Alan_c Mon 08 March 2010 23:43

Nice little unit, and it copes well even though its only 1400 watts. They also have different size collets available 6, 8, 12, 1/4, 1/2 (10 is also listed but have not been able to get hold of one yet!). Easy to make a holder for it because of its round body. - I reccomend it if you cant afford a spindle yet...;)

Brad Maritz Tue 09 March 2010 03:51

Thanks for the imformation on the bosch router. I found someone selling a new one in it boxs it for R 2700.00 ,not a bad price compaired to a spindle.

Recieved my motor . bought the racks .Red oxided the frame.

Kobus_Joubert Sun 18 April 2010 09:34

I see you had a spot of rain also on the other side of JoBurg. We just had a really big storm passing our place a few minutes ago.
I see you have some capscrews holding your rack...don't you trust double sided tape ? :D
How is the gantry FLEX now or are you waiting to get the motors and springs on first ?

hennie Sun 18 April 2010 10:55

Nice going Brad,Make sure the spring doesn`t come of otherwise you are going to have a nice piece of wood stuffed.Bought the shirt the other day, funny thing is one start looking at the electrics for trouble shooting and don`t realize to look at grub screws or springs jumping off

Planedriver Sun 18 April 2010 14:51
