Some great CNC design work
|
As said in the article….
Insanely detailed work made quite simple by…lazer cutting, NOT CNC !! Sorry to blow the balloon….. Amicalement, Robert ;) Re-edited…. But i suggest / invite anyone and everone to see this amaizing artiste immagination at work with….technology…. Totally amaizing creations & pices of work this guy ….outputs !WEB ; michael hansmeyer.com |
it look like electron microscope picture nice detail
hé Bob ,this is cnc laser .Did someone put a laser to a MM or was trying to ? Would be smoky but quiet. |
Around here, CNC can be a Router bit, Drill bit, Laser beam, Waterjet, Plasma....
|
Talking of cutting with lasers.. has anyone come across 'kit' that I can bolt onto my MM?
|
Have never come across any bolt on laser head, but I can imagine it will be a bulky concoction...
Unlike Plasma... |
Can't cut wood with a plasma.:)
|
Ya, how disappointing...

Are you wanting to engrave or cut? This will determine what you are trying to accomplish. Look over on the zone. (www.cnczone.com)
I fully believe if you are looking at thin cutting and engraving you can ADD this feature as a second option to a MechMate. Cutting I think would be a different story and would fall into the realm of mixing plasma and routers. Can you say FLAME ON !!! But really I would love to see a MechMate with a Laser hooked to it !!! |
Just a bit of thought here, most lasers have a resolution of 1200 to 1800 lines per inch, and operate at 60 to 120 inches a second.
Can you (imagine) rasterizing (engraving) a 1200 by 3000 mm table at 1200 times per inch at 10, 20 or 25 inches a second. For cutting it would be a very feasible, a 100 watt laser can cut 3/4 inches of plywood at 4 to 6 inches a second, not cleanly because of the resins, but acrylic and solid woods 1 inch is possible... Using Fiberoptics a very small head design...hmmmm Just want to say howdy to Gerald, havent chatted in years... Dan |
