dust collector capacity

Can you please let me know i found some dust collector witch have capacity of 1150 m3 per hour will this collector be good for using or please let me know what capacity did i need ?

You need a combination of m3 per hour as well as "pressure". I think the fan in your bedroom gives you 1000 m3 per hour, but it gives nearly zero pressure.

You need about 2 kiloWatt motor power minimum. Hose connection 100mm minimum.

The dust collection that I have is the brand - LUREM (Metabo) .
0,37 kW - 230 V mono - 850 m³ / h - hose connection 100 mm.
The suction at the mill is nothing.
Therefore I am looking for an affordable and good dust collection of max. 2PK – mono .

Can this possibly do the thing?
2500 m³ / h, but no information about the pressure.
Hose connection 100mm.
Price: 250 euro

Bart,

That looks like the same machine I have but under a different name. I made a modification like jhiggins7. Check the dust collection sections:

Bart, that is a standard Chinese dust collector, sold around the world under many different names. We have 2 of them. They will do the basic job of collecting most of the dust.

I have asked HBM for some extra info about the produced decibels and the delivered under pressure of the HBM 200.

Nils, I've read quickly the link about the issue to reduce the fine wooddust .
Maybe, I should spend some more and buy the HBM 200 Profi , with built-in dust filter ( 1 Micro Filter )
That could save me some time.

Info ( Google translate )

This dust extraction leaves no dust through because of the filter.
If you turn the handle on top of the filter is running any substance
the filter is collected at the bottom of platic bag

Gorantec, about 180mm water height, or about 1800 Pascal, or 1.8 kiloPascal

Bart,

I have included a picture of my dust collector. As you can see I replaced the bag filter with a Wynn filter which is some thing like the last photo.

I modified my dust collector to work like a cyclone. It is an easy modification and helps drop larger particles into the lower collection bag.

This is the info I received from the factory of the HBM 200 .

LPA is 87.1 DB (A); LWA is 100.1 DB (A)
LWA is the voice power grade,LPA is the voice press
grade, which are the international unit for standardization

About the question” how much pressure it can supply “ they could not answer ???
Strange!!!:(

Nils, that looks a fine work.
I wonder , if I will find also some Wynn filter at the time .

I ‘ll go for the HBM 200 , best price I think.
And convert it afterwards like you did, Nils

"LPA is 87.1 DB (A); LWA is 100.1 DB (A)

All of that paragraph is about noise (sound pressure)

Barman Thu 03 September 2009 13:33

Is that a normal "db level" for dust collectors.
Or is it too loud?

Gerald D Thu 03 September 2009 14:03

Barman, you don't have much choice. That "HBM 200" is a very common dust collector and it does an okay job. But, the data published by the producer in China is useless and outside your control. I would say to buy it, and to stop trying to analyse it :)

Bart,

My collector works very well and I am using 4" hose with it.

Barman Thu 03 September 2009 15:01

OK , sold !! :)

For those of us that live in the USA, Harbor Freight has their 2 hp dust collector on sale right now. Normally $249 on sale for $199, however in some wood working mags there is a coupon for that dust collector for as low as $139 in some and $149 in others. In store pick up only.
