Hello friends, good afternoon
I leave you a video with speed to engrave acrylic. http://youtu.be/rmwtkGFd_9k Spindle speed...9000 rpms Feed Rate.....1500 mm/m Plunge Rate..... 250 mm/m Two blade ball nose.... 2.5 mm A hug: António Pinho http://arteemcnc.blogspot.com https://www.facebook.com/ArteemCNC |
Is that extruded or cast acrylic?
|
You can go faster with the acrylic. I do 100 inch/m and I have the router running around 16,000. The bits need to be new or very sharp.
Looks like you are using a v bit so you could go a little slower 75 I/M. |
Hi friends, good evening
smreish: the acrylic is the extruded. sailfl: yes, I could contrive faster, but then stayed with a finish so perfect. the bit I used was a 2.5 mm ball nose. Cheers António Pinho |
Antonio,
If you are happy that is all that matters. But looking at the video, you shavings are melted which means heat is building up. You bit will wear out faster. |
