Very very nice work - well done!
|
Excellent work - pretty machines!
I personally like the hard piped air line on along the x-axis of the machine. Well done indeed! |
Well done we are reaching the 100'th MM soon
|
Well done Marko and Vlada!
|
Man that is awesome !!! So are both machines completed and running ? Need to know if I am givin one or two serial numbers !!!
|
You gotta love having a 4x8 Mill. Is that 1/2 inch aluminum ? How long did it take to cut that? Also are any of those parts you cut steel?
|
For now, my MM is only cutting. Vlada is waiting gears and drivers. It can be two numbers or two in one :) They are as twins, but only different clothing!
All parts that I cut was from aluminum, only steel part that i cut was head from screw, which suddenly appeared on cutting way :) alu for reductions was 10mm (~0.4inch), and cutting was very long because I put pass depth 0,3mm (~0.012inch). |
Well done Marko! :)
|
I want to be like Marko and Vlada when I grow up :)
good work guys! |
Hi Marko and Vlada
Nice machines so congratulations. .3mm cut depth is safe on alloy so a wise starting point. Love the compressed air on the machine, great for both a vacuum generator and a direct nozzle to blow away swarf. The little Mechmate stickers on the rails make them look like a shop bought item ! Regards Ross |
Brilliant built!
Attentions to details is immaculate! I bet you guys build machines for a living. |
I'm not a chimney sweep, this is only a pic when we were making base table :)

Pozdrav, Milos |
I was not active on the forum for a while, but there was a lot of progress!
Both machines got inductive sensors for limit switches, relay board for limit switches and relay board to isolate signals of emergency button, touch probe and other buttons on machine. Next thing was 2,2kw water cooled chinese spindle and VFD. I'll post some pictures later. here are few pictures of work that i done: plexi work: first i tried some engraving http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...807_resize.jpg bathroom ceiling lamp http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...545_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...549_resize.jpg plexiglass sign board http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...576_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...560_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...555_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...553_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...c/IMG_2129.jpg body for bass guitar from oak, first work was with foam for testing http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...254_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...342_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...037_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...911_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...740_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...728_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...714_resize.jpg spindle with round-over router bit for edge http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...402_resize.jpg and there was one more work, for one small company. I made 2 axes cnc foam machine with working area 1200x550mm. foam is cutting with hot wire. all part is made with mechmate. because they have only two steppers and drivers, i must link two towers, two screws, with chain there are pic.: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...404_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...405_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...406_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...407_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...743_resize.jpg |
Nice work!
Mike where are the serial Number for these guys? Blue Labels Cutting. Sounds like serial number time! |
Thank's for support! Numbers will be fine :)
Here are pictures, how my machine looks now: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...418_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...419_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...420_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...422_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...423_resize.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...424_resize.jpg and there is new upgrade! 2,4GHz wireless joypad, from ebay. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...426_resize.jpg |
and I forgot, there is one Vlada's project! It was necessary to have 4th axes for this, so there is improvisation :)

Hello Marko !
Thank you for sharing your job and congratulation for it ! I am going to begin to follow you path and build my MM ! Could you tell me where did you buy you laser cuts pats kits ? Thank you ! |
Lasercut parts i bought from member "danilom". Contact him for price.
I hope that new mechmate cnc machine is going to be on the way soon! :) |
Mike must be AWOL :)
But, yes nice work and I agree that serial numbers should be awarded. |
Marko - Great looking machines. I was MIA for a few days :D
Numbers will be 102 and 103 Marko let us know if you eill be 103 and Vlada 102. |
Hello again Marko !
Thank you for your answer. I am contacting with Danilom for my laser cuts kit. I am also looking for choosing my motors, controller, driver and power. It's difficult to fix a choice because there is many products available on the market with various technical aspects. Which components did you chose ? Are you satisfy ? Do you have some slightly rough edges of your cuts ? Which ratio are your gearbox ? Thank you for your help, Hardouin |
Thanks for numbers! It can be Marko 102, Vlada 103. :)
working area is 2650x1400mm My components combination: steppers nema23 3NM and 3A unipolar wiring, 4,2A parallel bipolar wiring. Drivers are homemade unipolar microstep driver (1/16 maximum). nema 23 is very weak with unipolar drivers, and i must go to bipolar option. better choice is nema 34 steppers with low inductance and good holding torque, and chinese bipolar drivers from ebay (24-80V/7.8A/256 Microstep DM860), or best geckodrive. I think that chinese driver has best ratio price/quality. gearbox ratio is 3:1 |
Updated Builder's Log
Congratulations to Marko and Vlada.
Here is the Updated Builder's Log with your serial number entries added. Please review the entries for accuracy and let me know any changes you would like to make. Great work. Thanks for sharing all the photos. Love the story about the MechMate "making" a foam cutting machine. |
Cestitam.Great work!
